Fenati (13°) e Migno (32°) ancora alla ricerca del miglior setting in vista della gara

Quinta e undicesima fila per lo Sky Racing Team VR46 al termine delle qualifiche del GP di Germania. Una seconda giornata di prove intensa per entrambi i piloti italiani, ancora alla ricerca del miglior setting con le rispettive moto.

Romano Fenati domani prenderà il via dalla 13esima casella della griglia di partenza, dopo aver chiuso le prove ufficiali in 1’27.378. Andrea Migno, invece, partirà dalla 32esima posizione, con un tempo in qualifica di 1’28.232. Fenati deve fare i conti con un problema al mono ammortizzatore posteriore che condiziona l’intero turno di FP3 del mattino. Il pilota ascolano affronta le qualifiche con un setting che gli permette di ottenere delle buone risposte dalla sua Ktm, con un tempo distante soli due decimi da quello delle primissime file. Difficoltà di setup anche per Migno, che non riesce a raggiungere il giusto feeling con la moto. Il traffico rallenta la sua performance e gli impedisce di acquisire maggiore confidenza con il tracciato.

I COMMENTI DEI PROTAGONISTI PABLO NIETO / Team Manager E’ stata una giornata un po’ complicata per entrambi i nostri piloti. Con Romano abbiamo avuto qualche difficoltà a trovare il giusto setting della sua Ktm. Siamo però fiduciosi perché nell’ultima uscita abbiamo trovato un setup che ci ha dato delle risposte positive. E’ vero che non siamo nelle primissime file, ma siamo a soli due decimi dal quinto e questo è un gap colmabile in vista della gara. Sono perciò convinto che Romano potrà dire la sua. Per Migno questa pista si sta rivelando più impegnativa del previsto, anche lui ha avuto delle difficoltà nel trovare il miglior setup della moto. Abbiamo ancora il warm up di domani per crescere e poi cercare di essere competitivi al massimo in gara.

ROMANO FENATI / Pilota Abbiamo fatto delle buone qualifiche, soprattutto alla luce dei problemi riscontrati al mono ammortizzatore posteriore. Siamo riusciti a cambiarlo in corsa e a fare dei passi in avanti, anche se questa modifica ha inevitabilmente rallentato i nostri piani di lavoro e quindi condizionato un po’ l’andamento delle prove ufficiali. L’importante però è aver individuato in tempo il problema e avere dei dati a disposizione sui cui lavorare per farci trovare pronti al via della gara.

ANDREA MIGNO / Pilota Non è stata una qualifica positiva per me, anche per via del traffico che non mi ha consentito di girare come avrei voluto. Ho anche avuto poche occasioni di stare in pista da solo per acquisire una maggiore confidenza con il tracciato. Ho fatto fatica a trovare il giusto feeling con la moto e ci sono ancora delle cose da mettere a punto in vista della gara. Ora continueremo a lavorare per cercare di arrivare in griglia di partenza nelle migliori condizioni possibili.

Quite a demanding practice day for both the Italian riders, still looking for the best setting on their bikes. Tomorrow Romano Fenati will be getting away from 13th on the starting grid after he lapped the Sachsenring in 1’27.378. Andrea Migno will start from 32nd as he ended qualifying in 1’28.232. Fenati had to deal with a problem on the rear single shock absorber that affected the whole FP3 morning session. The Italian rider went into qualifying with a completely new setting that allowed him to get a good feedback from his KTM, lapping just two tenths off the front pack. Also Migno struggled to find the right set-up and the right feeling with the bike. The traffic slowed down his performance and prevented him from getting a better feel of the track. THE TEAM PABLO NIETO / Team Manager It was quite a complicated day for both our riders. Romano struggled to find the right setting on his KTM. But we are confident as in the last outing we found a set-up that gave us a positive feedback. It’s true we are not getting away from the front rows, but we are just two tenths off the fifth place and that is a gap that can be bridged ahead of the race. I am sure Romano will be able to make it. For Migno this track turned out to be more challenging than he expected, he had some difficulties in finding the best bike set-up. We still have tomorrow’s warm up to try and improve and be as competitive as possible in the race. ROMANO FENATI / Rider We did a good qualifying, all the more so considering the problems we had with the rear single shock absorber. We managed to replace it during the session and to take steps forward, even if this change inevitably slowed down our work plan thus affecting my performance in qualifying. But the important thing is that we have identified the problem in time and collected data to work on in order to get ready for tomorrow’s race. ANDREA MIGNO / Rider It was not a good qualifying for me, also due to the traffic that prevented me from lapping as I hoped for. I also had very few chances to ride on my own to get a greater feel of the track. I struggled to find the right feeling with the bike and there are still things to fix ahead of the race. Now we will continue to work to get away under the best possible conditions.
