Moto 3: FENATI SUBITO NEL GRUPPETTO DI TESTA, IN CRESCITA TRA UNA SESSIONE E L’ALTRA

Silverstone, 29 agosto 2014. Comincia bene il weekend dello Sky Racing Team VR46 al GP di Gran Bretagna, con Romano Fenati subito competitivo tra i primi cinque e Francesco Bagnaia in crescita nella seconda sessione di prove libere. Il numero cinque della squadra nata dalla collaborazione tra Sky e Valentino Rossi continua a crescere: 2’15.788 il tempo registrato al termine dell’ultimo turno di giornata (nel primo aveva chiuso in 2’16.869), con un quinto posto da cui ripartire domani per la terza sessione e le qualifiche.

Bene anche Pecco, che insieme alla squadra sfrutta la seconda parte del venerdì di libere per perfezionare la messa a punto e migliorare il tempo: da 2,18.884 a 2’16.584, ventesimo posto per lui.

Il team manager Vittoriano Guareschi: “E’ stata una buona giornata, specialmente con Romano siamo riusciti ad andare bene sia nella prima che nella seconda sessione di prove libere. Abbiamo migliorato il tempo e lui è abbastanza soddisfatto della moto. Dobbiamo lavorare ancora su un po’ di particolari, ma di sicuro la pista migliorerà e noi faremo lo stesso con la messa a punto. Pecco stamattina ha avuto un po’ di difficoltà, era abbastanza distante. Oggi pomeriggio nel corso della seconda sessione si è avvicinato ed è arrivato a solo un secondo dai primi. Siamo distanti, qui sono tutti molto veloci, ma siamo contenti anche del lavoro fatto da lui. Ci sono un po’ di cose da mettere a posto ma bastano solo tre decimi per essere quattro file più avanti. Quindi andiamo avanti così”.

ROMANO FENATI: “Il bilancio della prima giornata è positivo, nel secondo turno abbiamo migliorato molte cose. Sono contento della moto, anche se il vento dà un po’ fastidio in pista. Il feeling è buono, domani cercheremo di migliorarci ancora in vista delle qualifiche”.

FRANCESCO BAGNAIA: “E’ andata abbastanza bene, stiamo continuando a lavorare sull’anteriore e siamo riusciti a fare uno step importante all’ultimo turno. La pista è più lenta rispetto all’anno scorso, ma abbiamo raggiunto comunque un buon tempo sul finale. Andiamo avanti così”.

BAGNAIA IMPROVES HIS TIME AND FEELING IN THE SECOND SESSION

Silverstone, August 29, 2014. Good start for the Sky Racing Team VR46 at the British Grand Prix, with Romano Fenati immediately competitive finishing in the top five and Francesco Bagnaia improving in the second free practice session. The number 5 of the team born from the collaboration between Sky and Valentino Rossi continues to grow: 2’15.788 is the time recorded at the end of the last round of the day (in the first one he had set 2’16.869), with a fifth place from which to start tomorrow for the third session and the qualifying.

Good result also for Pecco, who together with the team, used the second part of Friday’s free practice session to fine-tune the set-up and improve his time: from 2’18.884 to 2’16.584, reaching the 20^th place.

The team manager Vittoriano Guareschi: “It has been a good day, especially with Romano, who did good both in the first and the second free practice sessions. We have improved the time and he is quite happy with his bike. We still need to work on some details, but the track will surely improve and we will do the same with the set-up. This morning Pecco has had some problems, and he was pretty far from the leading pack. But this afternoon, during the second session, he got closer and arrived just a second behind the first riders. We are still far, here the riders are all very fast, but we are also happy with the work done by Pecco. There are a few things to adjust, but it would take only three-tenths of a second to climb four rows. So we will go on like this.”

ROMANO FENATI: “The outcome of the first day is positive, in the second round we have improved a lot of things. I’m happy with my bike, even if the wind is a bit annoying when you are on the track. The feeling is good, and tomorrow we will try to further improve ahead of the qualifying.”

FRANCESCO BAGNAIA: “We did pretty well, we are still working on the front wheel and we were able to make an important step in the last round. The track is slower than last year, but even so we have set a good time at the end of the race. We will go on like this.”
