Un grande Romano Fenati gioca e si diverte nel gruppo di testa fino alla fine e cede, solo all’ultima curva, il gradino più alto a Canet, lo spagnolino sconfitto in Texas. Se non fosse bastata la gara americana a confermarlo, l’ascolano ha espresso qualcosa di importante oggi: è l’italiano della Moto3 più in forma del momento e senza pensare al mondiale, è troppo presto, è l’unico a infastidire la piccola armata spagnola in pista. Jules Danilo parte troppo indietro per stare tra i protagonisti della gara ma recupera 13 posizioni e taglia il traguardo dodicesimo. Se solo non avesse sbagliato il turno di qualifiche di ieri, tempi alla mano, il francesino sarebbe potuto stare nel gruppo di testa. Tornato.

Romano Fenati: “All’inizio della gara ho provato ad andare via, ma il ritmo era alto e non è stato possibile. Sono felice, questo secondo posto è importante per me, per la squadra e per il campionato. È stata una battaglia bellissima, piena di sorpassi e mi sono divertito davvero tanto. Ringrazio il mio team perché abbiamo lavorato bene e adesso pensiamo già a Le Mans. Bisogna restare concentrati e continuare a lavorare bene come abbiamo fatto fino ad oggi”.

Jules Danilo: “Sono felice per la gara! Il feeling era davvero buono, l’unico errore del weekend è stato quello di aver sbagliato la strategia nelle qualifiche. Partire dalla venticinquesima posizione non era facile, ma ho fatto una buona partenza e, nei primi due giri, ho cercato di superare il maggior numero possibile di piloti. Il ritmo davanti era veloce quindi non sono riuscito a stare con il primo gruppo ma siamo contenti della nostra gara e del feeling con la moto”.

Romano Fenati: “At the beginning of the race I tried to go ahead and get a gap with the other riders but the rhythm was too fast and it was not possible. I am happy, this second place is important for me, for my team and for the Championship. It was a great fight, full of overtakes and I had a lot of fun. I thank my team as we worked well and know we stay focused on Le Mans. We need to continue to work well as we did until now”.

Jules Danilo: “I am happy for this race! The feeling with the bike was good, the only mistake of the weekend was to have done a mistake in the qualifying. Starting from the 25th position on the grid was not easy, but I started well and, in the first two laps, I tried to overtake most of the riders. The rhythm ahead was really fast and I couldn’t stay with the front group but we are happy of the race and of the feeling with the bike”.
