Austria – Spielberg, August 18 – The resonating sound of MotoGP engines filled the crisp air of the pit lane at the Red Bull Ring, as the Snipers team embarked on their first day of free practice on the renowned Austrian circuit. With Matteo Bertelle and Romano Fenati carrying high expectations and mechanics ready to tackle technical challenges, the atmosphere had been electric since this morning. The day began with strong times and placements for both Snipers, coming off a previous weekend that had left them with a bit of bitterness and dissatisfaction. During the morning free practice sessions, the Italian Snipers team focused their efforts on fine-tuning the bikes and gathering crucial data to understand the riders’ needs on this demanding track. In both sessions, both Rossi and Bianchi clocked competitive times, showcasing the team’s potential and the effectiveness of the adopted setup strategies. Romano, who loves this track and still recalls the joy of his podium finish here a few years ago, concluded the first session in ninth place with the confidence of being able to further improve and lower his time. Unfortunately, in the second practice, a technical issue forced him to stop, shattering his chances of attempting a time attack. He finished the day in 15th place in the combined times. Matteo, on the other hand, managed to develop a strong feeling during the second practice compared to the morning; he secured the 11th position in the first session and then an impressive 4th place, making him the top-performing Italian on the track. |
