PROVE SET UP: SKY RACING TEAM VR46 FENATI E BAGNAIA MIGLIORANO I TEMPI TRA UNA SESSIONE EL’ALTRA

Milano, 25 aprile, 2014. Lo Sky Racing Team VR46 cerca il settaggio ideale sul nuovo tracciato argentino di Termas de Rio Hondo. Al termine della prima giornata di prove libere, Romano Fenati chiude sedicesimo con 1’52.359, mentre Francesco Bagnaia, ancora in fase di recupero dopo l’influenza che lo ha debilitato negli ultimi giorni, conclude la seconda sessione al ventottesimo posto (1’.53.526).

Entrambi i piloti migliorano comunque i tempi tra una sessione e l’altra: nella prima, Romano aveva girato in 1’54.090, mentre Pecco in 1’55.389.

Un problema tecnico alla moto di Fenati, nella seconda sessione, interrompe la corsa del pilota azzurro: “Quando abbiamo cambiato le gomme usate con quelle nuove, Romano si è fermato – spiega il team manager Vittoriano Guareschi –. Peccato perché stava andando bene, ha fatto la prima uscita con le gomme di stamattina e aveva delle buone sensazioni. Le condizioni fisiche di Pecco, invece, unite a qualche piccolo problema di ciclistica, gli hanno impedito di dare il massimo. Adesso lavoreremo per risolvere il tutto in vista delle qualifiche, siamo fiduciosi”.

FENATI AND BAGNAIA IMPROVE THEIR TIMES IN THE SECOND SESSION

Milan, April 25, 2014. The Sky Racing Team VR46 looked for the most ideal set-up on the new Argentinian track in Termas de Rio Hondo. At the end of the first day of free practice, Romano Fenati finished 16th with 1’52.359, while Francesco Bagnaia, still recovering from the flu that has recently weakened him, concluded the second session in 28th position (1′.53.526).

However, both riders improved their times in the second session: in the first one, Romano had run in 1’54.090, while Pecco in 1’55.389.

A technical problem with Fenati’s bike stopped the race of the Italian rider in the second session: “When we changed the old tires with the new ones, Romano stopped,” explains the team manager Vittoriano Guareschi. “Too bad, because he was doing good, and after the first session of this morning he had a good feeling. However, Pecco’s physical conditions, combined with some minor cycling problems, prevented him from giving his best. Now we will work to solve everything in view of the qualifications, we feel confident.”
