Sempre in testa Romano, una gara incredibile ad Assen

Assen – Olanda, 25 Giugno – Una gara davvero entusiasmante quella che si è appena disputata sul circuito di Assen e ha visto come protagonista il nostro Snipers Romano Fenati.
Finalmente Romano is back! Ha lavorato molto con tutto il team, ha sempre parlato di buon feeling con la moto ma non si è mai sentito così bene per lo step decisivo. Quello che fortunatamente è arrivato oggi. Quel guizzo che caratterizza il pilota di Ascoli, quello che sorpassa in esterno ed inventa traiettorie per superare i nemici come se non esistessero in pista.
Al semaforo verde la partenza di entrambi gli Snipers non brilla; Matteo scatta dalla 16esima casella e riesce a mantenersi, all’incirca nella stessa posizione.
Romano si posiziona fra il gruppetto di testa determinato a non farsi sfuggire nessuno.
Per quasi tutta la gara, fino all’ultimo giro, è un susseguirsi di sorpassi e controsorpassi per Fenati. Lo vediamo a suo agio su una pista che lui ama e su una moto che lo segue. Lotta per il podio, un secondo e terzo posto sembrano lì a portata di mano fino a quando purtroppo un altro pilota lo spinge fuori. Romano è costretto ad allargare la scia per non scivolare, ma perde posizioni. Chiuderà decimo nella sua gara più bella.
Weekend più difficile per Matteo Bertelle che non guadagna posizione dalla casella di partenza. Tutta esperienza per lui su un circuito che ricordiamo non lo aveva mai visto correre.
Matteo si rifarà sicuramente al prossimo appuntamento.
Adesso gli Snipers avranno una pausa estiva fino al prossimo GP: quello del 6 agosto a Silverstone.

Matteo: “Non sono partito come volevo, non sono riuscito a trovare spazio nei primi giri per avanzare un po’. Dopo avevo un buon ritmo ma nel complesso non mi sentivo di spingere troppo. Devo ancora lavorare e ringrazio tutto il team e tutti gli sponsor che mi stanno accanto.”
Romano: “Mi sentivo proprio bene oggi. La moto mi seguiva e faceva bene o male quello che volevo. Peccato per quel contatto, mi sono sentito buttar fuori all’improvviso. Peccato avrei potuto veramente far bene. Bella gara, ho spinto al massimo e spero di aver fatto divertire tutti i fan Snipers.”

Race – Matteo closes 16th #DutchGP

Assen – Netherlands, June 25th – An incredibly exciting race has just taken place at the Assen circuit, with our very own Snipers rider, Romano Fenati, as the protagonist.
Finally, Romano is back! He has worked hard with the entire team, always talking about a good feeling with the bike, but he has never felt this confident to make the decisive step. Fortunately, that step came today. That burst of energy that characterizes the rider from Ascoli, the one who overtakes on the outside and invents trajectories to surpass his opponents as if they didn’t exist on the track.
At the green light, the start for both Snipers riders is not remarkable; Matteo starts from the 16th spot and manages to roughly maintain the same position.
Romano positions himself among the leading group, determined not to let anyone escape.
For almost the entire race, until the final lap, it is a succession of overtakes and counter-overtakes for Fenati. We see him comfortable on a track that he loves and on a bike that follows him. He fights for the podium; a second or third place seems within reach until, unfortunately, another rider pushes him off. Romano is forced to widen his trajectory to avoid sliding, but he loses positions. He will finish tenth in his most beautiful race.
It was a more challenging weekend for Matteo Bertelle, who didn’t gain any positions from his starting position. It was all about gaining experience for him on a circuit that, we remember, he had never raced on before.
Matteo will surely make up for it at the next event.
Now the Snipers will have a summer break until the next GP: the one on August 6th at Silverstone.
Matteo: “I didn’t start as I wanted, I couldn’t find space in the early laps to make some progress. Afterwards, I had a good pace, but overall, I didn’t feel like pushing too hard. I still have work to do, and I want to thank the whole team and all the sponsors who are supporting me.”

Romano: “I felt really good today. The bike was following me and doing more or less what I wanted. It’s a shame about that contact; I felt suddenly thrown off. It’s a pity because I could have really done well. It was a great race, I pushed to the maximum, and I hope I entertained all the Snipers fans.”
